I have an older border collie mix I take EVERYWHERE with me, and when I had to do a huge art show in Los Angeles, I couldn't take my dog with me to the show, so I hired Happy Dog Hiking to take care of my beloved pup while I was busy working....I was SO completely impressed with how Melinda interacts with all the dogs in her care....they are all treated with love and attention, as if every dog is her own....my Max integrated beautifully, and at the time, she had over 7 other dogs staying over, going for hikes every day....Max was in HEAVEN....many days, she has over 20+ dogs all hiking off leash with her, and she is able to manage to keep them all together as they play and hike to their hearts content.....I highly recommend Melinda to everyone, and have sent Max to her many times since....and when I have to travel to LA again, my Max will be coming with me and spending more time with Melinda....

How it all started...

In 2003 I was living in an apartment and decided that I wanted a Great Dane. When he was a puppy, he had a giant mouth and a ton of energy. I quickly learned that I needed to exercise him to avoid the apartment from being chewed to the ground. Gratefully the Santa Monica Mountains were in my backyard. People quickly became familiar with my giant blue Great Dane, Sampson, and asked if I could include their dog on the hike...
